White Clam Lerp (Hyalinaspis sp)Class: Animals (Animalia) - Jointed Legs (Arthropoda) - Insects (Insecta)
Order: True Bugs (Hemiptera)
Family: Psyllid (Psyllidae)
Species: White Clam Lerp (Hyalinaspis sp)
This Photo:     Later Instar

EXTRA - Photo Specific Information:
Larger wings and antenna. Notice one wing has a "deformity". Well so we thought. We now realise it's either a cast off skin or it's another instar hiding on it. Either way, the important issue is the huge growth from younger to older!
General Species Information:
Found on Ellura (in the Murray Mallee, SA), the Adelaide Hills and elsewhere
There is a bit of confussion with the naming of these. The Lerp is the housing. The bug inside is a Psyllid that produces the lerp.
