I don't know what it is, but insects with clear wings and black patterned edges just enthral me Marie saw this "moth" on the kitchen fly-screen. As soon as I saw it, straight into the insect box into the fridge. Didn't want to miss any important details. Thought it'd be easy to id; never having seen one, and being so unique. After much hunting around I found this pictorial key: http://www1.dpi.nsw.gov.au/keys/fulgor/ricaniidae/index.html#australia The only issue was the location component shows only the eastern seaboard.
This is the 1st record for this species in South Australia on the ALA website (www.ala.org.au).
