We have been concerned for some time that our photo's vary markedly with others on-line. Yet ours matches the photo in Cunningham's.
The Australian Museum indicates that Cunningham's id is actually Brachyscome perpusilla var tenella. "Ahhh, good" we thought. Ours & the others must be different varieties of the same species.
They also make reference to NSW identifying this as a different species to Brachyscome perpusilla. "Even better"
Then they say that Brachyscome perpusilla var tenella is a synonym of Brachyscome perpusilla. "Rats"
The NSW database no longer refers to tenella at all. "Getting worse"
A recent (2014) revision of Brachyscome by the SA gov indicates that Brachyscome perpusilla & Brachyscome glandulosa are "vegetatively similar, if not identical", as it discusses microscopic differences.
CONFUSSED? Yeah, us too. So we'll stick with this id until proven wrong.
