Thank you Geoffrey Cox for confirming the id of this species for us EXTRA - Photo Specific Information: A common name for all whistlers was "Thickhead", and while a poor photo, it does highlight the typical thickhead shape of all whistlers. General Species Information: Found on Ellura (in the Murray Mallee, SA), the Adelaide Hills and elsewhere A small whistler, with an olive back. The male has a black head that contrasts starkly with the golden yellow under and neck ring. White chin and black throat bar. The female has drab brown tones by comparison. | |||||
