Thank you Ralph Foster & Dr Peter Lang for confirming the id of this species for us General Species Information: Found on Ellura (in the Murray Mallee, SA) and elsewhere A small Jewel Beetle at ~12mm long. It's exoskeleton is primarily purple! There can be some variation on pattern & shading of the yellow to orange with these. Import aspects to look for at the spikes on the trailing edge of the elytra & the shape of pronotum. The pronotum is quite barrel shaped here. They also like certain plants, this one was found in Senna flowers. | |||||
