Thank you Janet Whitington for confirming the id of this species for us General Species Information: Found on Ellura (in the Murray Mallee, SA) and elsewhere 1st Live Photo on-line: ~5.5mm long. Very Velvet Ant like with the naked eye, but on closer inspection with the camera we can see the antennae & body shape are quite different. The whole upper aspect of the body is heavily punctuated. Underneath it is smooth and black. The pronotum has 2 small longitudinal ridges. | |||||
