Species: | Giant Green Slantface (Acrida conica)This Photo: | 🔍S1, Female, dorsal🔎 | Thank you Matthew Connors & Rod Lowther (Rover-Rod) for confirming the id of this species for us General Species Information: Found on Ellura (in the Murray Mallee, SA) and elsewhere ~60mm long Female. Such an apt name, except of course they can also be brown. These are often confused with Matchstick Grasshoppers; in photo's. In real life these are massively larger (the largest Matchstick Grasshoppers are 30mm, half the length). In photo's it's easy to see that these have much longer antennae than Matchstick Grasshoppers. Similar Species: Striped Matchstick Grasshopper (Morabinae sp ES01)
