General Species Information:
Found on Ellura (in the Murray Mallee, SA) and elsewhere
1st Live Photo on-line:
Like Enicospilus, this genus has a clear patch in it's wing with dark marks.
These are known as fenestra & sclerites.
Unfortunately we've only photographed this species twice and didn't manage to get a clear shot of the fenestra. The hairs on the hind wing are showing through hidding the fenestra in the forewing. The sclerites are clear though. Notice on the profile shot, while oblique, you can see the clear patch.
This species only has one sclerite per wing, the obvious dark "lump" on each forewing. If they weren't symetrical, you easily consider it to be debris of some sort.
More obvious than the fenestrae & sclerites are the curved vein at the rear of the disco-submarginal cell. Notice it's a bit like an elongated 'S'.
