Found in the Murray Mallee SA, Coastal Areas and possibly elsewhere
Was considered to be Azolla filiculoides, an American species, but Reid et al. 2006 proved it was a separate species.

in the Murray Mallee, SA, by DENR (Regional Species Status Assessments, July 2010)
