| Species: | Golden Everlasting (Xerochrysum cf bicolor)| This Photo: | Flower, above | Other name: | Strawflower | Thank you Darren Schmitke for identifying and Matt Endacott for confirming the id of this species for us General Species Information: Found in the Murray Mallee SA and possibly elsewhere These are large flowers for the Mallee region, opening to ~50mm across. This used to be Xerochrysum bracteatum, but has since changed. In 2022 a CSIRO paper determined that Xerochrysum bracteatum is now restricted to the Eastern States. We suspect this one has moved to Xerochrysum bicolor, but will take some time for people to sort all these out.
