Species: | Striped Sac Spider (Cheiracanthium sp ES01)This Photo: | Male, eye arrangement | Other names: | Green Sac Spider, Longlegged Sac Spider or Yellow Sac Spider | General Species Information: Found on Ellura (in the Murray Mallee, SA), the Adelaide Hills and elsewhere They change colour to some degree based on their last meal. A medium sized spider with a pale green abdomen containing a brown strip at the front. Very large large chelicera (the structure holding the fangs) for it's size. She tended to sit with 2 legs back and 6 legs forward. We don't know which male (ES01 or ES02) the females goes with. In fact, the female may even be a 3rd species. Also note that ES01 was only found in the Adelaide Hills, and ES02 only at Ellura.
