| Species: | Pacific Black Duck (Anas superciliosa)| This Photo: | Ducklings, in water | Thank you C. Hewitt (CHewitt1) for confirming the id of this species for us General Species Information: Found in the Murray Mallee SA and possibly elsewhere It's very sad, but the Pacific Black Duck is becoming extinct. The extinction process is via hybridisation with the introduced Mallard Duck. The Mallard is a more aggressive species, and so mates more readily than the native.
