Martin (BioShots_JM) for confirming the id of this species for us General Species Information: Found in the Murray Mallee SA, Riverland, Coastal Areas and possibly elsewhere Seems to be the only sub-species in Australia. Adult Males & Females exhibit sexual dimorphism; ie they differ significantly in colour. Males being primarily black, while females have white/buff throat, breast and underparts. We note the males we've seen also have dark/grey feet webbign, while the femals have pink feet webbing. We saw one specimen that has a black stripe on the side of the neck. We suspect it's an Immature male changing plummage as it ages; it's known they look like females early on then transition to Male colours over time.
