General Species Information:
Found on Ellura (in the Murray Mallee, SA), Coastal Areas and elsewhere
Large black beetle, approximately 35mm (40mm including elytra extension) long, with a projection out the rear end of the elytra.
It was introduced in the 1800's via local ports, on the western side of Yorke Peninsula, SA, on grain ships. They fed on rat manure on the ships, not the grain.
