Thank you Dezmond Wells & Santiago (Sanpa) for confirming the id of this species for us General Species Information: Found on Ellura (in the Murray Mallee, SA), the Adelaide Hills and elsewhere The female we captured was ~7mm, while the male ~8mm These hover and look similar to hover flies. Mark Newton said "the specific epithet refers to the subapical spot on the wing" ie "subapicalis" | |||||
