It was very loud when in flew in near us on a hot day (over 40 deg) looking for some shade on the side of the caravan. It sounded similar to a large wasp or big robberfly. Similar Species: Rutilia-mimicking Bristle Fly (Anamastax cf sp) : Massive Bristle Fly (Prodiaphania sp ES01)
