General Species Information:
Found on Ellura (in the Murray Mallee, SA) and elsewhere
The black face separates this out from the Inland Grasshopper (M. securiformis) in the area. We found one of each species on Ellura on the same day.
Robert said "If it has a black face it is a male." He has photographed the female showing the Prosternal Process, that separates it from other macrotonas.
