| Species: | Spotted Hairy Flower Wasp (Australelis anthracina)| This Photo: | Female, don't try this at home | Thank you Joseph (CobalJoseph) for identifying and Tony and Jenny Dominelli (Cinclosoma) for confirming the id of this species for us General Species Information: Found on Ellura (in the Murray Mallee, SA) and elsewhere 1st Record for this family in SA on Atlas: Females have shorter antennae than the males, and the males seem to be smaller. We thought this was Laeviscolia frontalis (for over 5 years!) until Joseph corrected us. He said "South Australia: Abdomen not spotless as in frontalis nicoladonii. Neither vertex (female) nor pronotum (male) yellow as in frontalis frontalis."
