Thank you Dr Kym Nicolson for confirming the id of this species for us General Species Information: Found in the Murray Mallee SA, Riverland and possibly elsewhere Grevillia flowers don't have petals .... Say what? While inspecting flower photo's to post we noticed the curled back "petal" actually contains anthers in the tips. How can this be? Petals are just that, they aren't part of the sexual organs of a flower. Ahhh, further investigation .... we find they aren't petals but TEPALS. These are structures like petals, that don't fall into a proper definition of petal or sepal. | |||||
