Thank you Tony and Jenny Dominelli & Karen Weaving for confirming the id of this species for us EXTRA - Photo Specific Information: The waist in spiders is called the "Pedicel". Jumping spiders are renowned for lifting their heads and "looking at you". They can do this because of a long flexible Pedicel, which isn't usually visible; but we got lucky with this shot to be able to highlight it. General Species Information: Found on Ellura (in the Murray Mallee, SA), the Adelaide Hills and elsewhere Females are from ~5mm to ~7mm long. It seems the typical orange band on the can be almost non-existant, or very strong. | |||||
